The Sentryum (S3T) range is Riello UPS’s third generation of transformerless online uninterruptible power supplies.  

Available in 10-15-20-30-40-60-80-100-120 kVA versions, the Sentryum improves on our popular Multi Sentry (MST) series and has been developed following extensive customer feedback.

The S3T redefines the concept of flexible power protection by offering four different cabinet sizes to meet the varied needs of small data centres and mission-critical applications.

Three different frame types are available for the Sentryum 10-60 kVA/kW power ratings:

Compact (CPT) 

• Footprint less than 0.25 m² and volume of 0.17 m^3;  
• 280 mm x 840 mm x 700 mm (W x D x H);
• 1 internal battery string;
• Specifically designed for extremely restricted spaces. 

Active (ACT) 

• Footprint less than 0.35 m² and volume of 0.33 m³; 
• 380 mm x 850 mm x 1025 mm (W x D x H)  ;
• 1 or 2 internal battery strings (except for the 60 kVA, no battery inside).

Xtend (XTD) 

• Footprint less than 0.4 m² and volume of 0.5 m^3;  
• 440 mm x 840 mm x 1320 mm (W x D x H);
• Up to 3 internal battery strings in a single cabinet; 
• Option to add isolation transformer;
• Can upgrade enclosure protection from IP20 or IP21 to IP31. 
• Can be equipped with Seismic kit.

• Footprint less than 0.42 m2 and volume of 0.67 m3;

The Sentryum is manufactured used state-of-the-art components designed to run flawlessly at temperatures up to 40 °C. These include a dual-core DSP processor and three-level inverters that operate at high frequency (18 kHz for 10-60 kVA, 16 kHz for 80-120 kVA).  

This ensures the S3T delivers full-rated power (kVA = kW 1 pf) with an exceptional operating efficiency of up to 96.6% in online double conversion mode.  

Available as three-phase/single phase input, single-phase output or three-phase input and output, the UPS has a unique control system that reduces harmonic voltage distortion (< 1% at resistive linear load and < 1.5% at non-linear load). 

In addition, the Sentryum has high overload (125% for 10 minutes, 150% for 1 minute) and inverter short circuit (270% for 200ms and 150% for 300ms) capacity, which enables it to handle sudden peak loads without needing to transfer to bypass.  

Install up to 8 S3T together in parallel to scale capacity or build in redundancy (i.e. N+1 configuration). Closed loop system ensures the UPS continue to function even if there’s a disruption to the connecting cables.  

A revamped 5-inch colour touchscreen display panel clearly highlights crucial UPS measurements and operating statuses. While an innovative new LED status indicator automatically changes its colour (light blue, dark blue, orange, red) depending on the operating mode and condition of the UPS.

The Sentryum range is suitable for use with sealed lead-acid (VRLA), AGM, GEL, open vented or nickel cadmium batteries, as well as alternative backup sources such as supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries. 

It incorporates sophisticated battery management systems, such as deep discharge protection and recharge voltage compensation, to ensure the best performance and operating life. Higher-powered (up to 30 A) battery chargers are available for longer runtime applications.  

The S3T incorporates USB, RS232, and RJ10 ports, plus various slots to insert parallel and network communications cards. It is compatible with the full range of Riello UPS networking and UPS management software, including PowerShield³ and PowerNetGuard.  

Very high protection

The automatic voltage regulator (AVR) provides protection from surges, overvoltages and undervoltages, without battery intervention. Reduced battery usage ensures that the battery set is 100% available for mains power supply failures and is able to provide greater autonomy. 
EMI filters then provide further protection from voltage surges and transients. When the mains power supply fails, 
the load is powered by the inverter and receives a perfectly sinusoidal supply for maximum power continuity and reliability.

High availability

An EnergyShare socket allows load-shedding and the shutdown of less sensitive peripheral devices to extend battery runtime for critical loads. 
“Hot Swap” batteries can be removed via the front panel for easy and safe UPS maintenance. For business continuity applications requiring long battery runtimes, battery autonomy can be extended up to several hours using ER models (versions 2200 and 3000) fitted with more powerful battery chargers. Battery test facility to detect deteriorating battery performance. Deep discharge protection to reduce battery ageing.
 

Versatility

Vision Dual can be installed as a tower or in 19” rack cabinets. The display panel can be easily removed and rotated to suit the type of installation required.
Vision Dual is equipped with an emergency power off (EPO) contact that allows for remote shutdown in emergency situations.
Cold Start function to allow the UPS to power up with no mains power supply present.
Vision Dual models have a backlit LCD display providing UPS status information, load and battery performance.

Advanced communication

This is the rackmount-style version of our popular Vision INE INTERACTIVE UPS system. Available in either 800 VA or 1100 VA versions, the Vision Rack is an easy-to-use plug and play power supply suitable for servers, peripherals, and network backup systems.  

As well as protecting against blackouts, its automatic voltage stabiliser smooths out potentially damaging sags and surges to the mains supply. 

Simple plug and play installation plus a backlit LCD display panel are just two of the Vision Rack’s user-friendly features. Another is a Cold Start function where you can start up the UPS even if there isn’t any mains electricity available. 

Operating efficiency of up to 98% minimises energy waste and power consumption. While load-shedding is possible thanks to a special EnergyShare socket, meaning you can shut down less sensitive devices and prioritise battery runtime for more critical loads. 

Easily integrates with the free Riello UPS communications software PowerShield³ so each connected device can be safely shut down.

Lithium batteries offer all types of facility operators a new set of solutions to help improve their energy storage performance.
Lithium batteries are the ideal solution for all applications requiring a high number of cycles, high rate performance, new concepts of facility operating modes such as “peak shaving” or where there are very limited space and temperature constraints.

The Riello UPS lithium battery solution offers a full proposal that includes:

• Battery Modules with integrated electronic control;
• Battery breaker protection;
• BMS unit;
• Interconnection power cables between modules;
• Internal cabinet communication cables;
• External communication cable for data exchange between the BMS unit and Riello UPS or Riello Solartech system.

Extended lifecycle
Thanks to the high number of chargedischarge cycles provided by the supercapacitors (millions or more with respect to the 200 or 300 of lead batteries), the lifecycle is similar to that of a UPS, making this an eco-friendly solution.
